Many of you have heard but I want to take a moment to tell you a motivating story. Danielle Stephens, Jackson native and graduate of Jackson Academy, wife and mother was recently diagnosed with MDS/AML, a form of blood cancer. In order to continue to live her meaningful life, she needs a bone marrow transplant. Danielle must rely on a total stranger to give her the life saving cells that she needs.
Along with other community members, I am working to quickly put together and publicize a bone marrow donor drive to be held on Sunday, April 21.
This journey has been so eye opening, there is something that we can all DO to help Danielle and others! The key to Danielle’s survival is finding a donor, which requires us to raise awareness to register more people. The more publicity we can get for the donor drive, the greater the chance that Danielle and other blood cancer patients can survive. I know this is short notice as we are all running our separate ways but what better way to serve and what better gift is there than the gift of life?!
Ways YOU can help Danielle:
• Call 5-10 people to ask them to attend the drive and ask them to call another 5-10 people, help spread the word!
• Send this email to your Pastors and Ministers and ask them to share at services in the coming weeks.
• Forward this e-mail to as many people as possible!
• Spread the word via social media: Facebook and Twitter
